EarthX conference branding and event signage design
Overview
EarthX sought to revitalize its brand for its premier environmental conference in a way that could be refreshed each year. The design goal was to create a visual identity that reflected its mission to unite business leaders and environmental groups.
Joseph developed a visual brand language inspired by the graphic spark of innovation that emerges when business and environmental leaders join forces under one mission.
CLIENT:

Master guidelines
A master set of brand elements was derived from this graphic spark, establishing the design foundation for all future conferences. These elements were then applied across a wide range of deliverables, from conference signage to social media assets and B2B materials.

The spark
The intersection of the natural and built environments is where the spark of inspiration and ingenuity ignites.

This concept is at the core of the brand refresh, integrated into the tagline and woven into the brand’s design elements.
The brand shapes
Derived from the intersection of our circular planet and the spark of innovation, these shapes create a dynamic visual language. Their positive and negative spaces act as a window for imagery and content within the conference campaign.

Hero Campaign Imagery
The hero campaign image visually represents the mission, uniting the human and natural worlds through environmental innovation—symbolized by a person in nature alongside sustainable energy solutions.

EarthX 2025
The EarthX 2025 Conference campaign built on the master brand, incorporating a brighter color palette, dynamic gradients, and stronger juxtapositions of human and nature imagery.
Joseph created a new master hero image, updated all core layouts, and expanded the toolkit with additional deliverables. He also designed and delivered all large-scale signage for the new conference space.

Signage
New templates were developed for entrances, lobby desks, and hallways. Each area was carefully considered, with unique imagery pairings to keep the experience fresh and engaging.

Social
The social toolkit was updated with new templates and samples, ranging from overarching campaign imagery to individual conference topic layouts. The templates covered everything from social media to email campaigns.

Topical Imagery
The hero image campaign was elevated by seamlessly integrating topic-specific imagery, creating a more dynamic and cohesive visual narrative.

The Style Guide
The core style guide was updated with new colors, gradients, and imagery. The templates were also expanded and further refined, creating an even more comprehensive, turnkey solution for future use.

2025 Styles
A new, refreshed look was introduced with brighter colors, a dynamic blue gradient, and a pop of sunflower yellow, seamlessly integrated into the color palette and imagery.

Signage
Joseph designed and delivered a comprehensive suite of conference signage for a two-story foyer. The columns were wrapped in brand graphics and imagery, complemented by a monumental arch, branded entrances, and feature walls.

2024 Styleguide
A complimentary fresh color scheme was created with a range of dark and light colors that all worked together to create a variety of moods. The addition of large type graphic forms and organic shapes created a variety of looks from casual to high fashion. This gave Social Set an array of design options with color, typography, shapes and photography.
